About Me
I immigrated to the United States from Cuba at just two years old, as my parents fled communism in search of a better future. My experience as an immigrant has shaped my worldview and passion for journalism, driving me to amplify Latino voices and break down language and cultural barriers to tell our stories with accuracy and depth.
For the past 2.5 years, I’ve built my career as a Multimedia Journalist, Producer, and Anchor in Rockford, Illinois. I have honed my skills in live breaking news coverage, developing comprehensive rundowns, and delivering impactful storytelling with the right tone and emotion. As lead political reporter for the 2024 Election, I produced in-depth voter guides for two Congressional races, conducted exclusive one-on-one interviews, and created web-exclusive content. On Election Night, I leveraged real-time mapping software to track vote counts and analyze voter trends statewide.
Before stepping in front of the camera, I spent nearly three years in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market as an Assignment Editor, sharpening my editorial instincts and ability to manage breaking news. Sitting at the editorial table, I learned how to shape a newsroom’s daily coverage, pitch meaningful stories, and coordinate major events in real time. Covering national and local headlines—including the Surfside Condo Collapse, Black Lives Matter protests, COVID-19 pandemic, Miami Beach Spring Break chaos, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio’s federal court appearance, and anti-Cuban government protests—taught me to thrive under pressure while maintaining journalistic integrity.
This portfolio showcases my work across digital and broadcast platforms, featuring exclusive web articles, video reports, and in-depth political coverage. Whether reporting from the field, behind the desk, or producing engaging digital content, my mission remains the same: to inform, engage, and elevate the voices that need to be heard.
